I first met Wayne Ottum in 2009 when he was the COO of the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce and heading the Bellevue Entrepreneur Center (BEC).  Wayne struck me as a driven professional, someone who could get results and not waste precious time.  So I didn’t hesitate to ask him to come speak to the Bellevue Entrepreneur Alliance about how member business could benefit from using civic resources such as the BEC to improve their businesses bottom line for little or no cost to them.  Wayne was prompt, professional, and a compelling speaker. 

Sometime after Wayne came and spoke to our group, I received an email from him noting that he was venturing out on his own again, reestablishing Ottum Enterprises.  It was by sheer luck that I ran into Wayne him at a local coffee shop. Ever the networking pro, Wayne reached out to me to rekindle our connection. as it had been 8 months since our last contact. We After only a brief discussion, chatted briefly, and he immediately honed in on a need I hadn’t quite crystallized but sensed was there – career and personal direction.  As an entrepreneur, career direction is not something you learn and in school, from friends and family, or even in books or online.  So my problem was: who to turn to?  Answer: Wayne Ottum and Ottum Enterprises. 

Wayne proposed his Career Achievement Challenge service curriculum for rapid career focus and transition based on my strengths.  Wayne dug out and brought into the light one issue that had been slowing my career growth down without my knowledge:  I was focusing on improving my areas of weakness rather than building on my inherent strengths. We are all taught that we can do anything we put our minds to.  This is useful advice – for people under age 18 who haven’t decided on a career.  But for someone in business, this can be deadly.  Fortunately Wayne was able to get me focused and on track – with big results.  Within the span of my working with Wayne (about 1 month)a month of working with Wayne I received a contract offer position, which I accepted, and also a full time job offer that (which I also accepted.)  Both of these positions are centered aligned with around my career and personal goals and my inherent strengths. 

In short, I couldn’t recommend Wayne more to you if you are looking for a way to transition your career, break out of a career rut, or just get a leg up in your career.  Wayne values your time and will never waste it, b, as he himself is very busy.  But he also takes the time to go through important points until you understand them.  And lastly, one of the things I liked most about Wayne’s program the Career Achievement Challenge was that it was very manageable with .  Yes, there was some homework, but just the right amount of homework and in-person consultations for a busy professional like me.  Wayne takes you quickly through a process of simple yet powerful personal assessments, guiding you to figure out what is right for you.  This creates the personal confidence and knowledge to take positive action in your career and get results.

Forget notions studying for hours and writing huge reports – just quick information and quick assessments.  And Wayne leaves room for you to figure it out on your own and doesn’t create dependence.  This in turns creates confidence and knowledge in and of yourself that you can use in your career immediately – which I did in seeking out those targeted jobs.   Thank you for your services Wayne, and I look forward to helping you help others along their paths.

A few years ago I went through a 6 month training session with Wayne Ottum of Ottum Enterprises called the Business Growth Challenge™.  At the time I didn’t think I had the time or resources or the need for a business coach.  I was working very hard, franticly in fact, to grow and maintain my 4 year old business.  I thought, “I can’t afford to take time to study and write definitions.  I can’t get paid for that”  But I was wrong!
Wayne gave me the clarity I needed to focus my time on the important things.  As importantly, he helped me clearly define what these important things are: A vision for my organization, my potential marketing channels, marketing strategy, target markets, our value proposition and our organizational culture.

Just like a good budget to make financial decisions, Wayne gives you an “Organizational Budget” (a clear Business Roadmap) to make business decisions.  So if you don’t have a financial budget, get one.  But first get a clear Business Roadmap from Ottum Enterprises and the confidence to take action!
